Nebbiolo 100%.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe producer\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Vietti family has made wine from the heart of the Langhe since the 1800s, when Carlo Vietti established the winery in the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto; in 1961 the estate produced one of the very first single-vineyard Barolo crus, Rocche di Castiglione, and in 2016 the Krause family took ownership. The fruit comes from a one-hectare plot in the historic Cerequio vineyard in the commune of Barolo, at around 320 metres with a southern exposure, the vines averaging 36 years and planted at 4,600 per hectare in limestone and clay-rich soils with elements of Marne di Sant'Agata, cultivated sustainably and hand-harvested in October. Skin-contact fermentation lasted around four weeks in steel, including pre- and post-ferment maceration with the traditional submerged-cap method; malolactic conversion took place in oak and the wine matured for 32 months in Slavonian and French oak casks before being bottled without filtration. 2019 was a warm year, a dry start followed by good spring rainfall and a hot summer with regular rain, closing with a very balanced September that allowed full phenolic ripening and grapes of real intensity and concentration.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 16 to 18°C.
