In 2019 the domaine was awarded three stars by La Revue du Vin de France. Maison Rouge takes its name from a small red house at the foot of a steep registered lieu-dit: two hectares of sandy granite terraces in the southern part of the appellation, Guyot-trained, averaging 50 years old and planted at 10,000 vines per hectare. The slopes are too steep for machinery, so the vineyard is tended entirely by hand, without weed killers, treated with organic products and certified organic. The grapes were destemmed and fermented in oak vats for three to four weeks, then matured for 24 months in oak barrels, 30% of them new.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 16 to 18°C. It suits roast beef, venison, duck with olives and a well-aged Comté. Drinking now and over the next five to ten years, and worth an hour in a decanter.
