Pinot Noir 100%.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe producer\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlois Lageder is six generations deep: Johann Lageder began trading wine alongside his work as a wagon maker in 1823, his successors bought the first vineyards, and in 1934 the family acquired the Löwengang Estate at Magrè, still the headquarters today. In the 1990s they set out to raise quality across the whole region as well as their own cellar, and the vineyards are now farmed biodynamically, with their growing partners encouraged towards organic or biodynamic practice. The Krafuss fruit comes from steep, south-facing slopes at 430 to 450 metres in the foothills of the Dolomites, where sunshine is tempered by cool alpine breezes and the loamy, gravelly soil over calcareous glacial deposits drains hard. The grapes were hand-harvested and gently destemmed, fermented spontaneously on indigenous yeasts in stainless steel with gentle extraction to protect the aromatics, then matured for around eighteen months in a mix of small and large oak casks and bottled with minimal filtration.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe lightly chilled at 14–16°C. Good with roast guinea fowl, salmon with herbs, mushroom and barley soup or a soft washed-rind cheese. Drinking well now and over the next five to ten years.
