Pinot Noir 100%.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe producer\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eAlbert Morot began in 1820 as one of the largest negociant houses in Burgundy; later generations wound the trade down and concentrated on the estate vineyards, eight hectares spread across ten appellations, most of them Premiers Crus of Beaune. Geoffroy Choppin de Janvry took over in 2000, committed the estate to sustainable farming and gained organic certification in 2015, with many biodynamic practices alongside. The Guillaume and Sophie Poitrinal family group acquired the estate in 2023 and Pierre-Jean Villa now manages the domaine. Les Teurons is one of the most highly respected 1er Cru climats in Beaune: a hectare of gently sloping limestone and marl facing south-east, vines averaging 50 years, yields cut to 25 hectolitres per hectare by a green harvest. The grapes were hand-harvested and sorted by hand, destemmed and fermented in open vats on natural yeasts, with the cap submerged or gently pumped over once a day, then aged 14 months in oak of which 30 per cent was new, going through a slow malolactic conversion in barrel. The wine was never racked and was bottled by gravity, without fining or filtration. 2022 was dry, hot and early, July and August among the hottest and driest months of the last 30 years, with a healthy and ripe harvest.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 16 to 17C.
