Winemaker Glenn Goodall has been there since 1999 and was Halliday's Winemaker of the Year in 2023. The fruit comes from the Wilyabrup and Wallcliffe subregions, mostly the renowned Houghton clone of Cabernet, on ancient granite soils full of ironstone gravel, with sea breezes off the meeting of the Indian and Southern Oceans keeping everything in balance. The vineyard is a member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, with cover crops and grazing sheep for weed control. Fermentation is in small batches with hand plunging, a fifth of the wine gets extended time on skins for colour and structure, and it spends 14 months in French oak, 40% new.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGood with roast beef, lamb, aged cheddar and rich pasta dishes.
