For nearly two hundred years it made Port for the family firm Casa Ferreira, turning to dry red, white and rosé wines under its own name in the early 1990s. The fruit for this wine comes from certified organic vineyards planted between 80 and 400 metres on south- and west-facing schist terraces, part of the 35 hectares that came with the acquisition of Quinta do Orgal in the Douro Superior. Each parcel was fermented separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel with periodic pumping over, then aged for sixteen months in used French oak barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 16 to 18°C. Roast lamb, a grilled steak, barbecued pork or a firm aged cheese all suit it.
