Sauvignon Blanc 100%.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eThe producer\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eVentolera is a venture between founder Vicente Izquierdo and Stefano Gandolini, one of Chile's top winemakers, on a vineyard planted in 1999 six kilometres from the Pacific in the Leyda Valley. Leyda is Chile's newest and most radical cool-climate region, shaped by the Humboldt Current running up from the Antarctic; ventolera is the Spanish word for the strong sea wind it drives inland, and that cooling influence is what keeps the wines elegant. The fruit comes from two south-east facing blocks on heat-retaining granite and alluvial soil, where canopy management shields the bunches from extreme sun and high humidity moderates the climate for the vines. Hand-selected grapes from specific blocks were fermented in stainless steel to hold the freshness and aromatics. The 2022 summer was moderately warm with clear days until March turned cloudy with morning mists, and that cooler finish gave fruit with a good balance of alcohol and acidity and a vibrant aromatic profile.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eFood and drinking\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eServe at 8-10°C.
