The Raptor Pinot Noir comes entirely from the 11-hectare Eyrie Vineyard in the lower Waihopai Valley: hand-picked clone 115 fruit from 15-year-old vines on clay-rich soils, with yields kept low. Winemaker Chloe Gabrielsen fermented it in small open-top vats with hand plunging, then aged it for 11 months in French oak barriques, over a third of them new, before selecting the best barrels for the final blend.
