The vineyards sit on granitic and schist soils along the Vidigueira fault, where cool Atlantic air trapped by the escarpment gives 15°C day-night swings and one of the most temperate climates in the region. Winemaker Pedro Ribeiro follows a minimal-intervention approach: hand-picked grapes are cold-macerated, fermented with natural yeasts in small stainless-steel vats at 16°C and aged five months in tank to keep the fruit pure.
