EDKA Wines Price Promise — Terms & Conditions

We check our member prices against other UK merchants, wine by wine, and on most of what we sell nobody is cheaper. Britain has hundreds of wine merchants and prices move daily, so we do not ask you to take our word for it.

If you find one of our wines cheaper elsewhere in the UK, tell us and we will refund the difference. That is our price promise.

The conditions below are what keep it workable for a small merchant. In summary: the claim must be for the same wine on a like-for-like delivered basis, the difference must be at least £3 a bottle, the refund is capped at 40% of what you paid, and members may make up to six successful claims a year.

Who it is for

  • Active EDKA Wines members only.
  • Your membership must still be active at the time you claim.

Time limit

  • Claims must reach us within 14 days of your order.

What we compare

  • We compare the competing price against the price you actually paid as a member, not our standard shelf price.
  • The competing offer must be for the same wine in every respect: same producer, same cuvée, same vintage, same bottle size, same condition.
  • The competing price must be the full delivered cost to a UK address, including VAT, UK duty and delivery. We compare like for like against what you paid us.

Who counts as a competing retailer

  • A UK-based, VAT-registered wine retailer with a public website, a published trading address and verifiable contact details.
  • The wine must be genuinely in stock, publicly advertised and available to any UK customer at the time you claim.
  • If the competing retailer sells out between your claim and our check, we will still honour the claim provided your screenshot shows it was in stock when you found it.

What we do not match

  • In-bond, en primeur, ex-cellar, duty-suspended or trade and wholesale prices. These exclude duty and VAT and are not comparable to a delivered retail price.
  • Multi-buy, mixed-case and bundle pricing — for example “any six” rates, case-only prices, or prices conditional on buying other products.
  • Membership-only, subscriber, closed-group, corporate, loyalty-points or private-sale prices.
  • Auction, marketplace and third-party seller listings, including eBay, Amazon Marketplace, Vivino, WineBid and similar.
  • Clearance, liquidation, bin-end, closing-down and flash-sale events.
  • Obvious pricing errors, and promotional codes or vouchers.
  • Prices from outside the UK, or prices requiring collection only.
  • Wines not in a condition we would sell: damaged labels, low fills, uncertain provenance.

Limits

  • The minimum claim is £3 per bottle. Below that the difference is not worth either of our time.
  • The maximum refund is 40% of what you paid for that wine.
  • We will refund on the quantity you bought, up to the quantity the competing retailer had in stock.
  • A maximum of six successful claims per membership year.
  • Where the difference exceeds the 40% cap, we may instead offer to cancel that wine and refund it in full on its return to us, unopened and at our cost. The choice between the capped refund and the full return is yours.

How to claim

Email edka@edkawines.com with:

  1. Your order number and the wine.
  2. A link to the competing offer, plus a screenshot showing the price, the delivery cost and that it is in stock.
  3. The retailer’s name and website.

We will check it and come back to you. Successful claims are refunded to your original payment method within 14 working days.

Fair use

We may decline claims that do not meet these conditions, or where there is evidence of coordinated activity, price manipulation, or use of the promise in a way that is plainly against its purpose. We will always tell you why, in writing.

We may change these terms. The version that applies to any claim is the version published on the date you placed the order. Changes never apply retrospectively.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Refunds paid to you under this price promise are separate from, and will not be deducted from, any refund due to you on cancelling your membership.
