A rich yet elegant Lebanese red wine offering deep black and red berry fruit layered with cedar, spice and mineral undertones, framed by ripe, supple tannins and a lingering finish.
About the Winery: IXSIR is a high-altitude Lebanese winery located in Batroun and surrounding mountain terroirs (400-1,800m) that focuses on sustainable viticulture, gravity-flow winemaking and blending noble international varieties on limestone and clay-calcareous soils.
Grape Variety: Syrah / Shiraz ~55%, Cabernet Sauvignon ~35%, Merlot ~10% (approximate blend).
Appearance: Deep ruby with violet reflections and an opaque core, showing youthful depth.
Aroma: Black cherry, blackberry liqueur, cedar wood, bay leaf, liquorice and gentle spice notes, overlain by floral hints of violet.
Palate: Full-bodied and structured, with dark fruit concentration, fine oak integration, peppery Syrah spice, mineral tension and a long, savoury finish with refined tannins.
Body: Full-bodied, intense and concentrated.
Acidity: Balanced to high acidity, providing freshness and supporting the wineof structure and length.
Cellaring Potential: Excellent ageing potential ‚ best from now to 2030-2035, showing further integration of oak and terroir over time.
Perfect Pairing: Grilled lamb chops, beef tenderloin, game dishes (venison, boar), mature cheese (e.g., aged Gouda, Comte), and Lebanese mezze with rich spice and herbs.
Serving Temperature: Serve at 16-18 °C to fully express its depth and aromatic complexity.
