2015 Belle Epoque, Champagne Perrier-Jouët
About the Winery: Founded in 1811 in Épernay, Perrier-Jouët is one of Champagne’s most historic and art-inspired houses, famed for its delicate, floral style shaped by a high proportion of Chardonnay. Belle Epoque is the maison’s iconic prestige cuvée, first released in 1969 and instantly recognisable by its Emile Gallé anemone motif. Produced only in exceptional vintages, Belle Epoque embodies elegance, finesse and harmony, drawn from Grand Cru vineyards including Cramant, Avize, Mailly and Aÿ.
Grape Variety: Approx. 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, 5% Meunier (typical Belle Epoque blend)
Appearance: Pale, luminous gold with fine, persistent bubbles and exceptional brilliance, reflecting both long lees ageing and vintage quality.
Aroma: Elegant and expressive with notes of white flowers, pear, lemon zest and crisp apple, supported by brioche, almond cream, honeyed nuances and delicate chalk minerality. Subtle notes of peach skin and pastry develop with air, showcasing the cuvée’s signature finesse.
Palate: Silky, refined and beautifully poised. Fresh citrus and orchard fruit intertwine with floral lift, fine pastry notes and delicate minerality. The mousse is creamy yet precise, with vibrant acidity providing structure. The finish is long, graceful and effortlessly balanced — a hallmark of Belle Epoque’s house style of purity and understated luxury.
Body: Medium-bodied with fine texture, elegance and a polished, creamy profile.
Acidity: Medium to high — fresh, lifted and essential for ageing potential and balance.
Cellaring Potential: 10–15 years; developing deeper brioche, honey, hazelnut and floral complexity while maintaining finesse and mineral clarity.
Perfect Pairing: Exceptional with oysters, lobster, scallops, sashimi, caviar, light poultry dishes, truffle-infused cuisine and soft-ripened cheeses. Its floral delicacy and refined mousse elevate elegant and celebratory dishes alike.
Serving Temperature: 8–10°C to highlight its aromatic precision, texture and fine mousse.
