Description
How it tastes
Wild strawberry, red cherry and plum layered with tobacco, brioche, vanilla, caramel, cedar and cinnamon blossom, silky and full of finesse. Tempranillo 89%, Graciano 11%, four years in American oak and four more in bottle.
The producer
La Rioja Alta was declared the world's fourth most admired wine brand in 2022, and it earns that the slow way — optical sorting, indigenous yeasts, and manual racking by candlelight. The Graciano comes from the Montecillo vineyard at Fuenmayor, which adds the backbone.
Food and drinking
Good with poultry & pork, red meat and cheese. Built for the long term — decades, if kept well. Serve at 16–18°C.
