2023 Lagar de Cervera Albariño, Rías Baixas
About the Winery: Lagar de Cervera, part of the historic La Rioja Alta family, is located in the O Rosal subzone of Rías Baixas and is dedicated exclusively to producing premium Albariño. With vineyards close to the Atlantic and planted on granite and sandy soils, the estate combines meticulous viticulture with modern, precision-focused winemaking. The result is Albariño with purity, freshness and remarkable aromatic definition, expressing the region’s maritime climate and mineral-rich terroir with exceptional finesse.
Grape Variety: 100% Albariño
Appearance: Pale straw with green highlights and brilliant brightness, showing youthful vibrancy and high natural acidity.
Aroma: Intensely aromatic with notes of citrus peel, ripe pear, green apple and white peach, layered with jasmine, fresh herbs and a distinct Atlantic saline-mineral lift. Highly expressive and elegant.
Palate: Fresh, zesty and finely textured with vibrant acidity and flavours of lemon, peach and crisp orchard fruits. A subtle saline edge brings energy and length, finishing long, clean and refreshing with the hallmark minerality of Rías Baixas coastal vineyards.
Body: Light to medium-bodied with a smooth, refreshing mouthfeel.
Acidity: High — bright, lively and essential for the wine’s lift and coastal precision.
Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed young within 2–3 years for maximum aromatic intensity, though can age gracefully to develop subtle honeyed and mineral complexity.
Perfect Pairing: Ideal with oysters, prawns, scallops, ceviche, sushi, grilled fish, steamed mussels, fresh cheeses and vibrant salads. Albariño’s acidity and salinity make it the perfect partner for seafood and citrus-forward dishes.
Serving Temperature: 8–10°C to enhance aromatic lift, freshness and saline-mineral precision.
