About the Winery: Clos Lunelles is an estate in Côtes de Castillon owned by Gérard Perse, also proprietor of Château Pavie in Saint-Émilion. The property is known for low yields, meticulous vineyard work, and a powerful, concentrated style that reflects its limestone-rich terroir on Bordeaux’s Right Bank.
Grape Variety: 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon
Appearance: Deep, opaque ruby with a garnet rim.
Aroma: Black plum, cassis, blackberry compote, dark chocolate, liquorice, and toasted oak with hints of graphite and spice.
Palate: Full-bodied and richly textured with dense black fruit, cocoa, sweet spice, and savoury notes, supported by firm, ripe tannins and a long, persistent finish.
Body: Full.
Acidity: Medium.
Cellaring Potential: Drinking well now, with potential to age for a further 5–8 years from vintage in good conditions.
Perfect Pairing: Roast beef, lamb shoulder, game dishes, and hard cheeses such as Comté or aged Gouda.
