How it tastes
Wild red fruit with spice and a rustic minerality, then raspberry, strawberry, florals and pomegranate over a subtle structure. Carignan 73%, Grenache 22%, Syrah 5%.
The producer
The Tollini Vineyard in Mendocino's Redwood Valley has been in the same family three generations, now with Alvin Tollini. Fred Peterson was vineyard manager at Ridge from 1985 to 1990 before setting up on his own; Zero Manipulation is his philosophy across the range.
Food and drinking
Good with poultry & pork, red meat and cheese. Ready now, and will hold for a few years yet. Serve at 16–18°C.
