Why this wine
Santenay is overwhelmingly a red wine appellation, and white Santenay is genuinely rare — this estate is 60% white varieties, an exception in the area, built by buying back historic white vineyards abandoned for close to a century. The same plot as the 2017, one vintage on: the cheapest way to taste what a vintage actually does.

How it tastes
Opulent, with a lively salty, mineral character and a hint of liquorice, rich and creamy on the palate with a lingering finish.
The producer
The estate was founded in the late 1960s from a few vineyards left by Antoine Chevalier Moreau to his grandson Hervé Olivier, who then bought back historic white-wine plots across Santenay that had lain unused for close to a century.
Food and drinking
Good with poultry & pork, rich & creamy dishes and seafood. Ready now, and will hold for a few years yet. Serve at 16–18°C.
