Why this wine

Brunello is Sangiovese given five years of ageing before release, which turns a bright grape into something savoury and deep. Marrucheto is a single vineyard on Banfi's southern estate. A serious Brunello that has already done its waiting for you.

Description

How it tastes

Powerful and rich with great freshness and vitality, the fruit profile complex and layered over Brunello's characteristic structure. Pure Sangiovese.

The producer

Marrucheto is regarded as a Grand Cru site within Montalcino, marked by marine deposits and coarse, rounded pebbles. Banfi was founded in 1978 by the Mariani brothers with Ezio Rivella, and did much to define modern Montalcino.
