About the Winery: Founded in 1890 in Haroof historic railway district, La Rioja Alta S.A. is one of Spainof most iconic and admired producers of traditional Rioja. Blending time-honoured craftsmanship with state-of-the-art precision, the estate creates classically styled Reserva and Gran Reserva wines renowned for their complexity and longevity. With its own in-house cooperage and candlelit barrel racking, La Rioja Alta epitomises Rioja heritage. In 2022, it was named the worldof fourth most admired wine brand by Drinks International.

 

Grape Variety: 80% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha

 

Appearance: Deep ruby red with a garnet rim, showing clarity and brightness typical of fine Rioja aging.

 

Aroma: Intense and complex aromas of ripe red cherry, liquorice, black pepper, and vanilla intertwined with tobacco, balsamic, and savoury spice notes from fine American oak aging.

 

Palate: Silky and opulent, showcasing layers of red fruit, spice, and a touch of cedar. The palate is elegant yet powerful, with supple tannins, integrated oak, and a long, polished finish that lingers with hints of liquorice and balsamic freshness.

 

Body: Medium-Full ‚ refined and velvety with graceful concentration.

 

Acidity: Medium-High ‚ enhancing freshness and definition across the palate.

 

Cellaring Potential: Drink now for its youthful vibrancy or cellar up to 2040 for increased complexity and tertiary development.
