About the Winery: Château Lynch-Bages is one of Pauillac’s most admired estates, celebrated for producing consistently powerful and age-worthy wines despite its Fifth Growth ranking. The estate’s deep gravel soils, meticulous vineyard work and state-of-the-art winery contribute to wines of remarkable concentration, precision and polish. In recent decades, Lynch-Bages has become one of the Left Bank’s most sought-after names, known for its distinctive combination of structure, richness and refinement.
Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon–dominant blend with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (proportions vary by vintage)
Appearance: Deep, opaque ruby-purple with exceptional concentration and a youthful, vibrant rim.
Aroma: Intense blackcurrant, blackberry and cassis intertwined with cedar, graphite, tobacco leaf, cocoa, violets and finely etched minerality. Classic Pauillac depth with superb lift and precision.
Palate: Powerful and richly textured with concentrated dark fruit, firm yet polished tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury, graphite-driven finish. A benchmark modern Lynch-Bages—combining muscular structure with elegance and impeccable balance.
Body: Full-bodied with impressive density and refined power.
Acidity: Medium to high, ensuring freshness, precision and long ageing potential.
Cellaring Potential: Outstanding—best enjoyed from 2030 onward; capable of ageing 20–30+ years with grace and increasing complexity.
Perfect Pairing: Ribeye steak, roast lamb, game birds, mushroom dishes and aged hard cheeses such as Comté or Gruyère.
