Why this wine
Cerequio is among the most highly regarded crus in La Morra, and Vietti were early advocates of bottling Barolo by single vineyard rather than blending across the zone. Tar, dried rose and tannins that need a decade to unwind. This is Nebbiolo at the top of its range and nowhere near ready.

How it tastes
Strawberry, plum, cherry and rose petal over a full, complex and harmonious palate — finesse and structure in equal measure. Pure Nebbiolo from one hectare of the historic Cerequio cru.
The producer
Cerequio is among the most significant crus in the whole of Barolo. The Vietti family have made wine in the Langhe since the 1800s, when Carlo Vietti founded the winery in the medieval village of Castiglione Falletto, and from the late 1950s pioneered bottling Barolo by single vineyard.
Food and drinking
Good with red meat, cheese and pasta. Built for the long term — decades, if kept well. Serve at 18°C.
