About the Winery: Pierre Naigeon is a leading and renowned producer in the Côtes de Nuits, with a family history in Gevrey-Chambertin dating back over 150 years. They acquired vines and began producing wine in 1890. The estate expanded significantly in 2003 to 11.5 hectares. Pierre Naigeon is committed to sustainable farming, avoiding herbicides, and practices non-interventionist winemaking to express the natural terroir. Their wines are known for extraordinary quality, maturity, and concentration, largely due to the high average age of their vines (over 50 years).
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir – elegant and age-worthy with red cherry and forest floor. This Pinot Noir offers charming, characteristic raspberry aromas layered with hints of spice, leading to a smooth palate of sweet Morello cherry and a touch of smokiness. Beautifully structured, with balanced oak and an exquisite finish.
Appearance: Limpid ruby with a translucent core, subtle garnet hues at the rim; medium intensity with fine, slow tears indicating good concentration.
