2021 Al-Cantàra ‘Luci Luci’ Etna Bianco
About the Winery: Al-Cantàra is a boutique estate located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, combining volcanic terroir with the artistic heritage of Sicily. The domaine is known for its poetic approach—each wine linked to literature—and meticulous vineyard work on high-altitude terraces of ash, basalt and pumice. ‘Luci Luci’ showcases the elegance and minerality of Etna Bianco, expressing the mountain’s unique combination of altitude, volcanic soils and Mediterranean breezes with purity and finesse.
Grape Variety: Primarily Carricante with minor indigenous varieties (Etna Bianco DOC blend)
Appearance: Pale straw with green reflections and crystalline brightness, typical of high-altitude Carricante.
Aroma: Citrus peel, green apple and white peach lifted by notes of wild herbs, white flowers and a distinctive smoky-volcanic minerality. Fresh, linear and finely detailed.
Palate: Precise and mineral-driven with vibrant acidity and flavours of lemon, pear and saline wet stone. Subtle herbal notes and volcanic tension build towards a long, clean finish marked by purity, texture and mountain freshness. Classic Etna Bianco—taut, refined and beautifully balanced.
Body: Light to medium-bodied with a sleek, linear texture.
Acidity: High — crisp, vibrant and essential to the wine’s volcanic precision.
Cellaring Potential: 4–6 years; gaining complexity with notes of honey, fennel, smoke and deeper minerality while retaining structure and freshness.
Perfect Pairing: Ideal with grilled fish, seafood crudo, prawns, clams, lemon chicken, vegetable tempura, soft cheeses and Mediterranean dishes featuring herbs or citrus. Its acidity and volcanic minerality make it exceptional with delicate yet savoury cuisine.
Serving Temperature: 10–12°C to emphasise freshness, aromatics and mineral detail.
