About the Winery: Founded in 2010 by Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, El Enemigo represents a bold and visionary collaboration born from a shared passion for terroir and creativity. Located in the Piedemonte al Sur region of Mendoza, the wineryof high-altitude vineyards sit between 930 and 1,470 metres, producing wines that challenge convention and celebrate authenticity. Their philosophy‚¬”embracing experimentation and individuality‚¬”has made El Enemigo one of Argentinaof most exciting modern wineries. The name, meaning ‚¬œThe Enemy,‚¬ symbolises the inner challenges faced in pursuit of excellence and the defiance of the status quo.

 

Grape Variety: Cabernet Franc 85%, Malbec 15% ‚ sourced from the Pampa El Cepillo vineyard at 1,300 metres, reflecting the limestone-rich soils of the Uco Valleyof southernmost site.

 

Appearance: Deep ruby with violet reflections, showing density and youthful brilliance.

 

Aroma: Perfumed and layered, with violet, cassis, plum, and dark cherry enriched by notes of mint chocolate, graphite, and wild herbs. Subtle spice and mineral accents add complexity.

 

Palate: Refined and vibrant, delivering concentrated red and black fruit with touches of black pepper and mocha. The silky tannins and racy acidity bring structure and poise, leading to an elegant, lingering mineral finish that reflects its limestone terroir.

 

Body: Medium to full-bodied, combining precision with effortless grace and balance.

 

Acidity: Fresh and focused, perfectly integrated to enhance aromatic lift and length.

 

Cellaring Potential: Enjoy from release or cellar for 10‚15 years to develop savoury depth and truffle complexity.

 

Perfect Pairing: Pairs beautifully with roast lamb, venison, or dishes featuring herbs and black olive; also complements aged cheeses like Manchego or Comte.
