About the Winery: El Enemigo was founded in 2010 by Adrianna Catena, daughter of Nicola¡s Catena Zapata, and celebrated winemaker Alejandro Vigil, head of Bodega Catena Zapata. Inspired by a desire to challenge convention, they craft wines that capture the essence of Mendozaof finest terroirs. The vineyards lie in the Piedemonte al Sur region between 930 and 1,470 metres, producing wines defined by purity, structure, and precision. The name ‚¬œEl Enemigo‚¬ (‚¬œthe enemy‚¬) reflects the inner battles faced in their relentless pursuit of excellence.
Grape Variety: 85% Cabernet Franc, 15% Malbec
Appearance: Deep garnet-purple with vibrant reflections and dense legs.
Aroma: Highly aromatic with notes of violet, cassis, dark cherry, and plum layered with mint chocolate, black pepper, and hints of graphite and herbs.
Palate: Silky and concentrated, delivering precision and energy. The palate unfolds with red and black fruit, cocoa, and spice over a vibrant mineral backbone. Racy acidity and fine-grained tannins create structure and poise, leading to a long, elegant finish.
Body: Full ‚ layered and polished with great purity and focus.
Acidity: Medium-High ‚ energises the fruit and enhances the mineral finish.
