About the Winery: Mataas Riccitelli, son of the legendary winemaker Jorge Riccitelli, founded his own winery in 2009 in Mendoza. Having honed his craft at some of Argentinaof top estates and abroad, Mataas now focuses on producing terroir-driven wines that capture purity and balance. His 50 hectares of vineyards are spread across high-altitude, cool-climate sites in Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. ‚¬œBlanco de la Casa‚¬ exemplifies his approach‚¬”innovative, minimal intervention winemaking that highlights the character of Argentinaof most expressive white grape varieties.
Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc 40%, Semilla³n 40%, Chardonnay 20% ‚ from selected cool-climate vineyards in Gualtallary, La Consulta, and La Carrera, at elevations between 1,000 and 1,700 metres.
Appearance: Bright pale yellow with green hues, reflecting freshness and vibrancy.
Aroma: Complex and refined, combining fresh green apple, citrus, hay, and herbal undertones, supported by chalky, mineral nuances from high-altitude soils.
Palate: Vibrant and textured, offering layers of orchard fruit, grapefruit, and lemon peel complemented by wet stone minerality. The concrete-egg ageing adds depth, roundness, and a distinctive creamy mid-palate, while maintaining precision and freshness through to the finish.
Body: Medium-bodied with a smooth, rounded texture and lifted acidity.
