About the Winery: Cuentaviñas is a boutique Rioja project led by José “Pepe” Peñín, dedicated to micro-parcel viticulture, minimal intervention and old-vine expression. Working primarily with high-altitude vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, the estate crafts precise, elegant and terroir-driven wines. The CDVin collection highlights limited-production cuvées vinified with exceptional care, showcasing purity, finesse and transparent varietal character.
Grape Variety: 100% Garnacha (Old-vine, high-altitude parcels)
Appearance: Bright, medium ruby with a translucent edge and youthful vibrancy.
Aroma: Fresh red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry layered with rose petals, mountain herbs, subtle spice and mineral lift from high-altitude soils.
Palate: Juicy and elegant with pure red fruit, fine tannins, bright acidity and a long, linear finish. A refined, modern expression of Garnacha showing freshness, precision and balance.
Body: Medium-light to medium-bodied.
Acidity: Medium to high, contributing tension and lift.
Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed now or within 4–8 years to appreciate its aromatic purity and precision.
