2021 Ilatraia Organic Maremma, Brancaia
About the Winery: Brancaia is one of Tuscany’s most respected modern estates, known for precision, sustainability and elegant international-style blends. With fully organic certification and a focus on low-intervention winemaking, Brancaia combines meticulous vineyard management with a refined, contemporary approach. Ilatraia is the flagship Maremma blend, sourced from coastal vineyards where warm days and cooling breezes deliver power, balance and Mediterranean purity.
Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc (exact proportions vary by vintage).
Appearance: Deep, opaque ruby with violet highlights and excellent concentration.
Aroma: Blackcurrant, blackberry and plum layered with graphite, violets, Mediterranean herbs, mocha and subtle oak spice.
Palate: Rich, structured and polished with dense dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, lively acidity and a long, savoury finish marked by mineral depth and refined oak integration. A powerful yet balanced expression of coastal Maremma.
Body: Full-bodied.
Acidity: Medium to medium-high, giving lift and structure.
