Description
Tasting Note: Savoury aromas of raisined red fruit tinged with chocolate and coffee, silky and full-flavoured.
About the Winery: The Tessari family has owned Ca'Rugate since the early 1900s, renaming it in 1986 after the volcanic hills where their vineyards are located. Now led by Michele, the fourth generation, the winery has expanded into Valpolicella and earned prestigious awards like the 'Tre Bicchieri' from Gambero Rosso.
Grape Variety: Corvina 45%, Corvinone 40%, Rondinella 15% - Corvina provides structure, bright acidity, and sour cherry, with violet and almond nuances; its fine tannins shape the wine’s frame. Corvinone adds depth, darker fruit (black cherry, plum), supple tannin, and a touch of spice/cocoa, boosting body and mid-palate. Rondinella contributes floral and herbal notes, fresh lift, and colour stability; it’s well-suited to drying, enhancing the raisined fruit character.
