About the Winery: Domaine Serge Laloue, established in the 1960s by Serge Laloue, is located five kilometres south of Sancerre in Thauvenay. Now run by Christine and Franck, with Clément recently joining, the estate is committed to environmentally responsible viticulture, converting to organic farming since 2019 and HVE certified.
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir – elegant and age-worthy with red cherry and forest floor notes, offering a supple and velvety palate with lovely purity of fruit.
Appearance: Translucent ruby to pale garnet with bright clarity and a delicate, slightly faded rim.
Aroma: Intense aromas of raspberry, wild strawberry and red fruits, with an appealing hint of smoke and a touch of pepper.
Palate: A supple and velvety palate with lovely purity of fruit, leading to a touch of cherry-praline on the finish.
Body: Light - This wine is described as light-bodied, offering a delicate and fresh profile.
Acidity: Medium to medium-plus, crisp and refreshing, lifting the red-fruited profile and ensuring a lively, food-friendly finish.
Cellaring Potential: Short (2–5 yrs) - While enjoyable now, this wine has the structure to develop further complexity with a few years of cellaring.
