How it tastes
Raspberry, wild strawberry and red fruit leading to a supple, velvety palate with a touch of cherry-praline on the finish. Pure Pinot Noir — red Sancerre, which surprises most people.
The producer
Serge Laloue established the domaine in Thauvenay, five kilometres south of Sancerre, in the 1960s. Christine and Franck have run it since the 1990s, now joined by Franck's son Clément. This comes from three hectares of thirty-five-year-old vines.
Food and drinking
Good with poultry, pasta, risotto and dessert. Ready now, and will hold for a few years yet. Serve at 14–16°C.
