About the Winery: Domaine Serge Laloue was founded in the 1960s in Thauvenay, five kilometres south of Sancerre. Now run by Christine and Franck Laloue, alongside Franckof son Clement, the domaine continues a family legacy rooted in respect for nature and balance. Certified Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and in conversion to organic certification since 2019, the estate follows sustainable practices such as ploughing between vines, using cover crops, and promoting biodiversity. The first fully organic vintage will be 2023, continuing their commitment to terroir-focused winemaking.
Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Appearance: Bright ruby red with soft garnet reflections and clear brilliance.
Aroma: Expressive bouquet of wild raspberry, strawberry and redcurrant with delicate smoky, flinty and peppery undertones.
Palate: Silky, fresh and supple with layers of red fruit and spice supported by gentle oak complexity. Aged 50% in large 60hl oak vats and 50% in 600L barrels, this Sancerre Rouge balances precision and texture with notes of cherry-praline on the finish.
Body: Light-Medium ‚ elegant and refined with smooth tannins and fine structure.
Acidity: Medium-High ‚ lively and bright, bringing freshness and clarity to the red fruit core.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar up to 2029 to gain savoury depth and forest-floor complexity.
Perfect Pairing: Enjoy with roast chicken, duck breast with cherry glaze, or baked mushroom tart with thyme.
