About the Winery: Set against the dramatic Klein Drakenstein Mountains in Paarl, Brookdale Estate is one of South Africaof most innovative producers. Once overgrown, the 67-hectare estate was revived in 2015 by the Rudd family, who recognised its potential to craft distinctive, world-class wines. Their vision was realised under winemaker Kiara Scott Farmer, one of the countryof most dynamic young talents. Brookdaleof focus on Mediterranean varieties, sustainable farming, and creative winemaking yields wines of precision, energy, and beauty.
Grape Variety: A unique field blend of 16 Mediterranean and Iberian varieties, including Chenin Blanc, Piquepoul, Verdejo, Clairette Blanche, Pinot Gris, Macabeo, Grenache, Semillon, Roussanne, Vermentino, Marsanne, Petit Manseng, Albarino, Palomino, Chardonnay, and Grillo ‚ all co-planted and co-fermented.
Appearance: Pale straw with golden glints, showing clarity and youthful vibrancy.
Aroma: Lifted floral and citrus notes layered with white pear, quince, and subtle hints of chalk and saline minerality.
Palate: Expressive and textural, offering flavours of peach, apple, and grapefruit zest woven with crushed stone and a savoury hint of quinine. The palate is rounded yet taut, finishing with refreshing acidity and a distinctive salty tang.
