About the Winery: Cape Point Vineyards, situated in the scenic Noordhoek Valley near Cape Town, is South Africaof only winery within the Cape Point Wine of Origin District. Established in 1997 by Sybrand van der Spuy, the estateof vineyards lie on the south-facing slopes of the Constantiaberg Mountain, just a mile from both the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay. This unique maritime location produces wines of tension, minerality, and purity. Head Winemaker Riandri Visser crafts elegant, sustainable wines certified by the Integrated Production of Wine (IPW) programme, celebrated for their cool-climate finesse and saline intensity.
Grape Variety: Sauvignon Blanc 70%, Semillon 20%, Sauvignon Gris 10% ‚ sourced from sea-facing vineyards of decomposed granite on the slopes of the Constantiaberg, producing concentrated, mineral-rich fruit.
Appearance: Pale gold with silver-green highlights, reflecting freshness and coastal purity.
Aroma: Lifted bouquet of lemon blossom, grapefruit, and ripe fig complemented by notes of wet stone, almond, and subtle smoke from barrel maturation.
Palate: Harmonious and layered, combining rich tropical fruit with lively acidity. The texture is silky from lees ageing, revealing notes of lemon curd, peach skin, and mineral salinity that linger through a long, savoury finish.
Body: Medium-bodied, textural, and elegant with coastal tension.
Acidity: Bright, linear, and saline, lending precision and length.
Cellaring Potential: Enjoy now for vibrancy or cellar for 8‚10 years to develop nutty, lanolin-like maturity.
