About the Winery: Founded in 2010 by Adrianna Catena and Alejandro Vigil, El Enemigo is a collaboration between two of Argentinaof most visionary figures in winemaking. The project celebrates independence, innovation, and the pursuit of terroir authenticity. Located in the Piedemonte al Sur region of Mendoza, the vineyards rise to altitudes of up to 1,470 metres, where cool temperatures and limestone soils yield wines of exceptional precision. The name ‚¬œEl Enemigo‚¬ (‚¬œThe Enemy‚¬) symbolises the internal challenge to push boundaries and redefine Argentine wine. Today, the estateof wines are considered among the most exciting expressions of South America.
Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay ‚ sourced from Gualtallary in Tupungato at 1,470 metres, grown in calcareous, rocky soils that impart purity and saline minerality.
Appearance: Pale gold with silver highlights, displaying luminosity and crystalline clarity.
Aroma: Refined aromas of salted lemon, crisp apple, and ripe peach, interwoven with floral undertones and subtle hints of oak spice and toasted brioche.
Palate: Full-bodied yet vibrant, with layers of citrus, orchard fruit, and savoury minerality. The distinctive saline character and chalky texture from limestone soils provide depth and elegance, leading to a long, precise finish of great tension and clarity.
Body: Full-bodied, with a smooth texture and finely integrated oak influence.
Acidity: Bright and linear, providing energy and lift to the concentrated fruit.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now for its vibrancy or cellar for 7‚10 years to gain additional complexity and savoury notes.
