About the Winery: Mata­as Riccitelli, son of the legendary Argentine winemaker Jorge Riccitelli, founded his eponymous winery in 2009. Having worked at top estates across Argentina and abroad, Mata­as brings a dynamic and modern approach to winemaking while remaining rooted in tradition. His 50 hectares of vineyards across Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, reflect a deep understanding of terroir, with minimal intervention and precise craftsmanship. Grape Variety: 100% Bonarda ‚ sourced from 60-year-old vines in the Vistalba vineyards, yielding naturally concentrated and expressive fruit.

 

Appearance: Opaque purple hue with violet highlights, showcasing depth and youthful intensity.

 

Aroma: Complex aromas of dark plum, blackberry, and black cherry layered with hints of mint, cocoa, and savoury spice from oak ageing.

 

Palate: Concentrated and velvety, offering flavours of ripe dark fruits, liquorice, and bittersweet chocolate. The mid-palate is full yet poised, balanced by vibrant acidity and a mineral undertone that carries through the finish.

 

Body: Full-bodied with rounded structure and polished texture.

 

Acidity: Fresh and lively, balancing the ripe fruit concentration beautifully.

 

Cellaring Potential: Drink now for fruit vibrancy or cellar for 8‚10 years to reveal further complexity and savoury evolution.

 

Perfect Pairing: Excellent with slow-cooked beef, barbecued ribs, roasted aubergine, or aged hard cheeses like Parmesan and Pecorino.
