Description

How it tastes

A thrilling and rare Greek red wine from the Mouhtaro grape, bursting with ripe red fruit, spice, and silky tannins, all framed by refreshing mountain freshness and purity. Expressive and lifted with bright red cherry, raspberry, and plum intertwined with clove, pepper, and subtle oak spice. Vibrant and refined, revealing juicy red fruits, spice, and supple tannins over a backbone of fresh acidity. Aged for 12 months in 20% new French oak (225–300 L) and older barrels, the wine achieves balance between fruit purity, texture, and subtle oak integration, finishing long and elegant. Contains sulphites. Information provided to the best of our knowledge at time of publication and subject to change by vintage.

The producer

Muses Estate was founded in 1946 in Askri, Central Greece, by Nikolaos Zaharias, inspired by his deep passion for winemaking and the ancient viticultural heritage of his homeland. The estate evolved across generations — from Nikolaos's artisanal beginnings to Athanasios Zaharias's modernisation in 1967, and finally to the third generation in 2005, when Nikos, Stelios, and Panayiotis established Muses Estate. Today, the family combines traditional methods with modern expertise to craft wines that harmonise with nature, expressing the distinct terroir of the Valley of the Muses at the foot of Mount Helicon.
