A thrilling and rare Greek red wine from the Mouhtaro grape, bursting with ripe red fruit, spice, and silky tannins, all framed by refreshing mountain freshness and purity.

About the Winery: Muses Estate was founded in 1946 in Askri, Central Greece, by Nikolaos Zaharias, inspired by his deep passion for winemaking and the ancient viticultural heritage of his homeland. The estate evolved across generations ‚¬” from Nikolaosof artisanal beginnings to Athanasios Zahariasof modernisation in 1967, and finally to the third generation in 2005, when Nikos, Stelios, and Panayiotis established Muses Estate. Today, the family combines traditional methods with modern expertise to craft wines that harmonise with nature, expressing the distinct terroir of the Valley of the Muses at the foot of Mount Helicon.

Grape Variety: 100% Mouhtaro ‚ a rare indigenous variety grown exclusively in the Askri area of Thiva. Revived from near-extinction in the 1990s by Athanasios Zacharias, the vines flourish between 450 and 550 metres on the slopes of Mount Helicon, benefiting from a continental climate moderated by the nearby Permisos River. Double Cordon Royat-trained vines grow in mixed sandy-loam and clay-loam soils, farmed according to integrated agriculture principles and hand-harvested at full ripeness:content.

Aged for 12 months in 20% new French oak (225‚300 L) and older barrels, the wine achieves balance between fruit purity, texture, and subtle oak integration, finishing long and elegant.
