About the Winery: Pago de los Capellanes, located in Pedrosa de Duero in Spain’s Ribera del Duero region, is a family-owned estate known for producing high-quality Tempranillo wines through meticulous vineyard management and modern winemaking. Established in 1996, the estate focuses on low yields, careful fruit selection and precision cellar practices to achieve purity and depth.
Grape Variety: 100% Tempranillo
Appearance: Deep ruby-red with a vibrant crimson rim and excellent clarity, showing youthful energy and concentration.
Aroma: Fresh cherry, wild berry and redcurrant layered with vanilla bean, clove, gentle toast and subtle French oak spice.
Palate: Medium-full with lush red and black fruit, smooth texture and fine-grained tannins. Oak influence is refined and integrated, leading to a long finish with spice, savoury notes and gentle warmth.
Body: Medium-full, energetic yet polished.
Acidity: Medium, offering freshness that balances ripeness and supports structure.
Cellaring Potential: Drink now or cellar for 4–6 years to develop savoury complexity and softer edges.
