About the Winery: Founded in 1885, Undurraga is one of Chileof most renowned and historic producers, crafting wines from 1,350 hectares of estate vineyards across Leyda, Cauquenes, and Itata. The wineryof commitment to sustainability and terroir expression is embodied in its ‚Terroir Hunter series, developed under the direction of winemaker Rafael Urrejola. Using minimal intervention and site-specific viticulture, Urrejola highlights Chileof diverse microclimates. In 2023, he earned the title of ‚Red Winemaker of the Year at the International Wine Challenge, marking a milestone for Chilean wine craftsmanship.

 

Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay ‚ clone 548, sourced from a single 2.39-hectare plot in Quebrada Seca, showcasing depth and coastal freshness.

 

Appearance: Bright pale gold with silver-green reflections, indicating purity and minerality.

 

Aroma: Expressive and layered, revealing chamomile, lemon zest, and melon over delicate hints of toasted hazelnut, ginger, and flint.

 

Palate: Smooth and textured with flavours of pear, citrus cream, and subtle oak spice balanced by a saline, mineral backbone. The lees ageing lends roundness, while fresh acidity preserves vibrancy through a refined, elegant finish.

 

Body: Medium-bodied with a creamy texture and graceful structure.

 

Acidity: Fresh and lively, contributing precision and lift to the wineof richness.

 

Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed now for its vitality, but capable of developing additional complexity over 5‚6 years.

 

Perfect Pairing: Superb with seared scallops, roasted chicken, creamy pasta, or mild cheeses such as Brie or Comte.

 

Serving Temperature: Serve lightly chilled at 10‚12°C to enhance texture and aromatic complexity.
