About the Winery: Campo alle Comete is a 26-hectare estate nestled at the foot of Castagneto Carducci on the Etruscan River, near the Tyrrhenian Sea. The name recalls Bolgheriof historic ‚Campi (fields) and the star-lit skies‚¬”‚Comete‚¬™‚¬”that once guided travellers through the countryside. Established by visionary owner Antonio Capaldo in 2016, the winery merges artistry and precision. Renowned illustrator Nicoletta Ceccoliof dreamlike painting, depicting Campo alle Comete as ‚¬œa place suspended between reality and imagination,‚¬ inspires the estateof whimsical labels. Grape Variety: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Appearance: Deep ruby red with violet reflections and luminous clarity.
Aroma: Aromas of wild berries, cherries and subtle spice layered with floral hints and Mediterranean herbs.
Palate: Silky and refined, showing red berry fruit complemented by hints of cherry and clove. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently destemmed, fermented in stainless steel and concrete vats, then aged six months in second-use French oak barriques for texture and complexity. Fine, well-integrated tannins frame a spicy, persistent finish.
