About the Winery: Founded in 2002 by Swiss-born winemaker Jean-Claude Martin and his South African wife Carolyn, Creation Wines lies on the cool-climate Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge in Walker Bay ‚¬” one of the worldof most biodiverse regions. The virus-free vines thrive on the steep foothills of Babylonstoren Mountain, rooted in ancient quartzite and clay soils cooled by Atlantic Ocean breezes. Sustainability is central to Creationof ethos: they are WWF Champions, Carbon Heroes, and leaders in social upliftment. The estate is globally recognised, ranked No. 1 in Africa and No. 3 worldwide in the 2024 *Worldof Best Vineyards Awards*.

Grape Variety: 100% Pinot Noir ‚ sourced from a small, single vineyard block at 287 metres elevation. The vines, averaging 21 years old, are planted to clone 115 on R110 rootstock in a north‚south orientation. The site combines flat and gently sloped pockets facing north and east, offering excellent sunlight balance. Soils of decomposed 450-million-year-old Bokkeveld shale provide minerality and moisture retention. Cooling sea breezes from the Benguela Current and trapped mountain clouds extend the ripening period, ensuring vibrant fruit and natural acidity. Organic fertilisers and cover crops promote soil vitality and water retention.

Appearance: Bright ruby-red with violet hues, showing clarity and fine intensity.

Aroma: Perfumed and expressive, combining cherry, plum, and forest floor notes with mushroom and baking spice.

Palate: Silky and layered, offering red fruit purity over earthy and spicy undertones. Hand-harvested fruit (60% whole bunch) underwent spontaneous fermentation in large foudres before 12 months maturation in 33% new and 67% second-fill French oak barrels. The limited-production wine displays depth, precision, and subtle oak harmony.

Body: Medium-bodied, supple, and velvety with fine texture.

Acidity: Fresh and balanced, supporting elegance and length.

Cellaring Potential: Enjoy now for its vibrancy or cellar for up to 8 years to develop earthy and truffle nuances.

Perfect Pairing: Ideal with duck breast, wild mushroom risotto, or seared tuna with soy and sesame glaze.

Serving Temperature: Serve at 15‚17°C to highlight balance and aromatic depth.
