Description
An elegant and refreshing rose from the high-altitude vineyards of Denizli, combining red berry, citrus, and floral notes with bright acidity and a gentle hint of spice.
About the Winery: Founded in 2007 by Salih and Aslı Kuzu, KuzubaÄŸ Estate Winery is a family-owned producer located in a€¡al, Denizli ‚¬” a region known since ancient Greek times as Mossyna. The estateof mission is to showcase the potential of indigenous Turkish grape varieties and the distinctive terroir of the Aegean highlands. After 13 years of vineyard establishment, a modern gravity-fed winery was built in 2020, discreetly integrated into the landscape. The estate spans 50 hectares, of which 34 are certified organic and the remainder in conversion. Under the guidance of oenologist Semril Zorlu, all wines are produced exclusively from estate-grown fruit.
Grape Variety: 54% Kalecik Karası, 46% a€¡al Karası ‚ two indigenous Anatolian black grape varieties grown at 850‚1,100 metres altitude in the inner Aegean plateau. The vineyards are characterised by calcareous clay-loam soils and dramatic diurnal shifts of up to 19°C, producing grapes of freshness and aromatic complexity. The vines, averaging 35 years of age, are hand-harvested before sunrise to retain natural acidity. Organic viticulture principles are applied, using only traditional Bordeaux mixture for disease control and maintaining yields as low as 500‚600 kg per 0.1 hectare.
Appearance: Subtle salmon-pink with brilliant reflections, showing clarity and refinement.
Aroma: Delicate aromas of strawberry, cherry, and wild raspberry complemented by citrus zest and a touch of spice from Kalecik Karası.
Palate: Fresh, vibrant, and balanced with intense red fruit flavours supported by subtle citrus tones and lively acidity. The wine is made using direct pressing and fermented at 15‚18°C in stainless steel tanks by gravity flow, preserving purity and aromatic precision. The resulting style is crisp and elegant, with a mineral edge and clean finish.
