Description

A fresh white wine with citrus and yellow peach notes combined with floral and sage flavours, crisp and refreshing.

About the Winery: Founded in 1978 by the vision of Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani, Banfi represents a superb marriage of winemaking passion and technological innovation. In collaboration with Ezio Rivella, one of Italy's most eminent winemakers, the land purchased in Montalcino was transformed into a crucible of quality and potential. The subsequent acquisition of the historic Piedmontese winery Bruzzone, further enriched the portfolio. Banfi is committed to responsible environmental stewardship and has obtained the sustainable Equalitas certification, at organisational and product level, for some productions. Their Brunello di Montalcino Poggio all'Oro 2016 was the first Brunello di Montalcino to obtain this certification. This legendary producer has a pioneering spirit, and their series of quintessential wines are not only world class, but they also perfectly encapsulate their terroir.

Grape Variety: Vermentino 88%, Sauvignon Blanc 12% - Vermentino offers aromatic freshness with citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and floral notes, often with a subtle saline-mineral nuance and gentle almond finish; naturally vibrant acidity keeps the palate lively. Sauvignon Blanc adds a crisp, zesty backbone with herbaceous undertones (sage, boxwood), lime and green apple accents, and lifts the aromatics and length for a vibrant, refreshing profile.

Appearance: Straw yellow.

Aroma: Intense citrus and yellow peach hints accompanied by floral and sage notes.

Palate: The full structure is well balanced by the freshness leading to a persistent and fruity finish on the palate.

Body: Medium - The wine has a well-balanced structure, offering a satisfying presence on the palate without being overly heavy.

Acidity: High - The freshness of the wine contributes to a crisp and refreshing character, balancing the fruit and floral notes.

Cellaring Potential: Short (2–5 yrs) - This wine is best enjoyed in its youth to appreciate its fresh and fruity characteristics, though it can develop further complexity over a few years.

Perfect Pairing: Seafood, Poultry, Light Pasta Dishes

Serving Temperature: 8–10°C
