Description

2023 Stina Pošip, Dalmatia, Jako Vino

About the Winery: Jako Vino is based on the island of Brač in Dalmatia, crafting distinctive wines that reflect the region’s white limestone soils, Mediterranean climate and coastal influence. The Stina range—named after the island’s famous white stone—focuses on purity, minerality and expressive local varieties. Pošip is one of Dalmatia’s noblest white grapes, and on Brač it thrives in sun-drenched, wind-cooled vineyards that preserve freshness while delivering concentration and aromatic depth. Jako Vino’s careful vineyard work and low-intervention approach result in a wine that is both vibrant and unmistakably Adriatic in character.

Grape Variety: 100% Pošip

Appearance: Bright straw yellow with golden hues and excellent clarity, reflecting ripeness and Mediterranean sunshine while retaining freshness.

Aroma: Aromatic and expressive with notes of apricot, ripe pear and citrus supported by dried Mediterranean herbs, floral hints and a touch of salinity. Subtle stone-like minerality evokes the island’s limestone terroir.

Palate: Fresh, textured and medium-bodied with flavours of peach, lemon zest, melon and subtle tropical fruit. A fine mineral backbone and crisp acidity give structure and lift. The finish is long, clean and lightly saline, echoing its Adriatic coastal origins.

Body: Medium-bodied with a supple, rounded mid-palate and refreshing mineral tension.

Acidity: Medium to medium-high, providing brightness and balance to the wine’s Mediterranean richness.

Cellaring Potential: Enjoy now or within 2–4 years for optimal freshness and aromatic vibrancy, with modest development of herbal and honeyed notes over time.

Perfect Pairing: Excellent with grilled fish, octopus, shellfish, risotto, fresh cheeses, Mediterranean salads and dishes featuring olive oil, lemon and herbs. Pošip’s combination of weight and freshness makes it a natural partner for Adriatic seafood cuisine.

Serving Temperature: 10–12°C to highlight its fruit expression, balance and coastal minerality.
