About the Winery: Domaine Georges Vernay, located in the Northern Rha´ne, is renowned for its pioneering work with Viognier and its exceptional Syrah wines. Established in 1953, the winery has received numerous accolades for its commitment to quality and terroir-driven wines.
Syrah: The flagship red grape of the Northern Rha´ne, delivering notes of dark berries, violets, black olive, pepper, and smoked meat. In Ca´te Ra´tie it thrives on steep schist and granite slopes, producing fine-grained tannins, savoury complexity, and excellent aging potential. A small proportion of Viognier may be co-fermented in the appellation to enhance aromatics and texture.
Appearance: Deep ruby with purple hues.
Aroma: Intense aromas of blackberries, violets, and a hint of black pepper.
Palate: Rich and complex with flavours of dark fruits, spice, and a touch of smokiness, balanced by silky tannins.
