About the Winery: Established in 1994 by winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos, Gaia Wines is one of the pioneering forces behind Greeceof modern wine revolution. Operating from two state-of-the-art wineries ‚¬” one in Nemea and the other on Santorini ‚¬” Gaia combines scientific precision with minimal intervention winemaking to highlight the potential of indigenous Greek grape varieties. Their mission is to present the distinctive terroir of Greece to wine lovers worldwide, with sustainability and authenticity at the core of their philosophy.

Grape Variety: 100% Agiorgitiko ‚ sourced from the Asprokambos area of the Nemea PDO in the Peloponnese, at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,040 metres above sea level. The Mediterranean climate provides mild, wet winters and long, dry summers, ideal for slow ripening. The vines, aged 15‚30 years, are trained using the double Cordon Royat system and pruned short to two buds. The soils consist of compact lime-pebble conglomerates and marls with loose sediment layers, promoting excellent drainage and aromatic expression.

Appearance: Bright pale pink with coral highlights, reflecting freshness and vibrancy.

Aroma: Delicate floral notes of rose petals intertwined with fruity tones of pomegranate, strawberry, and stone fruits.

Palate: Fresh and lively, showing lifted red fruit flavours balanced by crisp acidity and a mineral backbone. The grapes are rapidly cooled post-harvest from 28‚30°C down to 4‚6°C, then cold-soaked for four to six hours (inspiring the wineof name, *‚4-6H‚¬™*). Fermentation occurs at 16‚18°C with selected yeasts for two weeks before gentle fining and cold stabilisation. The result is a textural, fruit-driven rose that embodies purity and elegance.

Body: Light-bodied and crisp, with delicate texture and balance.

Acidity: Bright and refreshing, providing a lively backbone to the fruit profile.

Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed within 2‚3 years to capture its vibrant fruit and freshness.

Perfect Pairing: Pairs beautifully with grilled prawns, Greek salads, seafood pasta, or lightly spiced Asian cuisine.

Serving Temperature: Serve chilled at 8‚10°C to highlight its delicate aromatics and freshness.
