Description

Tasting Note: An aromatic rosé with floral notes of rose petals and fruity flavours of pomegranate and stone fruits, refreshing with lifted wild strawberry notes on the finish.

About the Winery: One of the pioneers of the modern Greek wine revolution, Gaia Estate was established in 1994 by Greek winemakers Leon Karatsalos and Yiannis Paraskevopoulos. Operating from two different wineries in the important wine growing regions of Nemea and Santorini, they have earned a reputation for making cutting-edge wines. Gaia's main aim is to explore the boundaries and present the potential of the indigenous Greek grape varieties to wine enthusiasts worldwide.

Grape Variety: 100% Agiorgitiko – a fragrant red wine grape native to Greece's Peloponnese Peninsula (notably Nemea, where it is also known as St. George). Versatile and expressive, it thrives on limestone soils and at higher elevations, yielding vibrant rosé with vivid colour, red-fruit and floral aromas, gentle tannins, and a juicy, refreshing profile. Short skin contact preserves its delicate perfume while accentuating pomegranate, strawberry, and subtle spice.
