2024 Pecorino, Agricola Tiberio
About the Winery: Agricola Tiberio, located in the high-altitude hills of Abruzzo, is renowned for its pure, terroir-driven expressions of indigenous Italian varieties. Run by Cristiana Tiberio, the estate farms older, massal-selected vines rooted in limestone-rich soils that give remarkable texture, minerality and aromatic precision. Their Pecorino is regarded as one of the finest in Italy, known for combining refreshing acidity, herbal lift and a distinctive savoury-mineral edge that reflects the mountain-influenced climate of Abruzzo.
Grape Variety: 100% Pecorino
Appearance: Pale straw with green reflections and bright luminosity, showing youthful vibrancy and high natural acidity.
Aroma: Lemon zest, grapefruit, white peach and pear alongside wild herbs, fennel, white flowers and a marked mineral lift. Intensely aromatic yet refined, with a cool-mountain freshness.
Palate: Crisp, tense and beautifully textured with flavours of citrus, green apple, savoury herbs and saline minerality. A signature Pecorino combination of acidity and structure creates a long, mouth-watering finish with subtle pithy complexity and mountain-herb nuance.
Body: Light to medium-bodied with a taut, refined palate and gentle weight.
Acidity: High, providing lift, precision and excellent ageing potential for an aromatic white wine.
Cellaring Potential: 3–5 years; developing richer texture, light honeyed tones and deeper mineral complexity while retaining freshness.
Perfect Pairing: Grilled prawns, calamari, seafood pasta, sushi, lemon-roast chicken, goat cheese, vegetable fritto misto and herb-driven Mediterranean dishes. Pecorino’s acidity and herbal edge make it exceptionally versatile with seafood and light cuisine.
Serving Temperature: 10–12°C to highlight freshness, aromatics and saline tension.
