2024 Stina ‘Cuvée White’ (Pošip Blend), Jako Vino
About the Winery: Jako Vino, located on the island of Brač in Dalmatia, is known for its striking “Stina” wines, named after the island’s famous white stone. The estate focuses on indigenous Croatian varieties grown on rugged, sun-drenched limestone terraces overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Their Cuvée White highlights the region’s maritime freshness and mineral elegance, blending Pošip with complementary local grapes to create a vibrant, expressive Mediterranean white wine with a modern, polished profile.
Grape Variety: Predominantly Pošip blended with other local Dalmatian varieties (exact composition varies by vintage)
Appearance: Pale straw with green highlights and crystalline brightness, reflecting coastal freshness and youthful vibrancy.
Aroma: Citrus zest, pear and ripe stone fruit supported by Mediterranean herbs, white flowers, and a distinct salty-mineral note from Brač’s limestone soils and maritime winds.
Palate: Fresh, smooth and gently textured with flavours of lemon, peach, green apple and coastal salinity. Balanced acidity lifts the wine, while a soft, rounded mid-palate leads to an elegant, mineral-driven finish. Expressive and refreshing without heaviness.
Body: Light to medium-bodied with a clean, vibrant profile.
Acidity: Medium to medium-high, giving lift and precision and enhancing the wine’s maritime freshness.
Cellaring Potential: Best enjoyed young within 2–3 years for maximum aromatic brightness and purity, though may develop light honeyed and herbal complexity over short ageing.
Perfect Pairing: Adriatic seafood, grilled white fish, prawns, oysters, salads, caprese, light pasta dishes and Mediterranean vegetables. Excellent with sushi and coastal-inspired cuisine.
Serving Temperature: 8–10°C for optimal freshness, aromatics and mineral precision.
