Description

Biscuity and yeasty notes with clean, soft, creamy fruit, excellent intensity and a lingering finish. Elegant and balanced.

About the Winery: Founded in Epernay in 1811, Perrier-Jouët owns 108 hectares of vineyards located in the heart of the Champagne region. Their famous flagship Champagne, the Cuvée Belle Epoque was created in 1964 after Pierre Ernst discovered an original Emile Gallé bottle made in the Art Nouveau style in 1902. A master glass-maker reproduced the raised enamel decoration in order to create a celebration of the spirit of this imaginative and decadent age. In 1990, the Perrier-Jouët's 18th Century family house on the Avenue de Champagne became the Maison Belle Epoque, housing the world's leading collection of original Art Nouveau works.

Grape Variety: Pinot Meunier 40%, Pinot Noir 40%, Chardonnay 20% - This blend offers a complex profile with red fruit notes from Pinot Noir, richness from Pinot Meunier, and elegance and freshness from Chardonnay.

Pinot Meunier: Brings supple texture, ripe orchard fruit and floral notes, adding roundness and approachability.

Pinot Noir: Provides structure and depth with red berry tones, subtle spice, and a firm, lingering finish.

Chardonnay: Lends finesse and freshness, with citrus, white flowers and chalky minerality, heightening elegance and lift.

Appearance: Clear with lively persistent bubbles.

Aroma: Attractive bouquet with youthful, delicate, creamy hints with a touch of biscuity and yeasty notes.

Palate: Lively persistent bubbles with clean, soft, creamy fruit, excellent intensity and a lingering finish. Elegant and balanced.

Body: Medium - This Champagne offers a balanced and elegant structure with creamy fruit and excellent intensity.

Acidity: Medium - Contributes to the clean and fresh character of the wine, balancing the creamy fruit notes.

Cellaring Potential: Short (2–5 yrs) - While enjoyable now, this Champagne can benefit from a few years of cellaring to further develop its complexity and roundness.

Perfect Pairing: Seafood, Poultry, Cheese
