Description

NV Anima Arancio Arneis, Giacomo Fenocchio

About the Winery: Giacomo Fenocchio is a fifth-generation, traditional Barolo estate based in Monforte d’Alba. While renowned for its classical Nebbiolo, the family also produces small quantities of Arneis that reflect their philosophy of purity, authenticity and terroir expression. ‘Anima Arancio’ is Fenocchio’s skin-contact Arneis, crafted using extended maceration and gentle, natural winemaking. The result is an orange-hued, textural, expressive white wine that highlights Arneis’ aromatic richness and the estate’s commitment to thoughtful craftsmanship.

Grape Variety: 100% Arneis (skin-contact / orange wine style)

Appearance: Deep straw to pale amber with golden-orange reflections, naturally cloudy due to minimal intervention and low filtration.

Aroma: Aromatic and complex with notes of apricot, orange peel, pear and chamomile woven with spice, wild herbs, dried flowers and subtle tea-like nuances from skin contact. A gentle almond and stone-dust minerality adds depth.

Palate: Textural, savoury and layered with flavours of citrus rind, peach and dried apricot supported by herbal notes and gentle grip. Fine tannins from skin maceration add structure, balanced by lively acidity and a long, lightly saline finish. A refined expression of Arneis in an artisanal orange-wine style.

Body: Medium-bodied with a rounded, tactile mouthfeel and gentle phenolic grip.

Acidity: Medium to medium-high, providing freshness and balance to the wine’s texture and intensity.

Cellaring Potential: 2–4 years; gaining deeper savoury complexity, honeyed herbal notes and mellowed tannins with short-term cellaring.

Perfect Pairing: Ideal with charcuterie, mushroom dishes, roasted poultry, grilled vegetables, Middle Eastern cuisine, aged cheeses and dishes featuring nuts, spice or citrus. Its structure and texture make it excellent with flavourful and aromatic foods.

Serving Temperature: 10–12°C; slightly warmer than typical white wines to highlight its aromatic and textural complexity.
