Why this wine
Krug ferment everything in small oak casks and blend across more than a hundred wines from a dozen vintages, which is why Grande Cuvee carries no year and tastes nothing like other non-vintage Champagne. Rich, nutty, oxidative, closer to a great white Burgundy than to an aperitif. Divisive, and the wine most likely to change what someone thinks Champagne is.
