Description
How it tastes
Exotic fruit layered with cinnamon, dried fruit, candied zest, roasted hazelnut and brioche. Complex and intense, yet remarkably fresh. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in equal parts.
The producer
Amazone is made only every five or six years, drawn exclusively from Premier and Grand Crus of the Montagne de Reims. An 18% Chardonnay solera runs through the blend, which is where the depth comes from. Rare, and priced well below its equivalents from better-known houses.
Food and drinking
Good with seafood, rich & creamy dishes and poultry & pork. Built for the long term — decades, if kept well. Serve at 8°C.
